In the fall of 2020, NES participated in the Outdoor Winter Design Workshop. This workshop brought together the American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado (ACEC), the American Institute of Architects Colorado (AIA), the Associated General Contractors of Colorado (AGC), other design and construction professionals, public health officials, representatives from local fire departments, building officials, restaurateurs, and more to create feasible ideas for outdoor dining concepts through Colorado’s cold-weather months.
Jon and Chris worked on Team 7, “Nearby/Adjacent Park,” designing a new idea for temporary restaurant dining in a public park. The concept is intended to be low maintenance and durable.
Other team projects included: Parking Lot Hot Sports, Urban Street Dining, Closed Urban Street Dining, Urban Sideway/Right of way dining, Mountain resort dining, parking space dining, dining adjacent to private property, and rooftop dining.
