The Kiwanis Club: Monument Hill and the Town of Monument, Colorado have joined forces to activate approximately 10,000 square feet of land located in the heart of downtown Monument. The property was donated to the Town from the Monument Presbyterian Community Church, and the Kiwanis and Town have dedicated time and focus to seeing this park become a place for “all ages and all abilities.”
NES has facilitated steering committee efforts, community engagement efforts and developing design concepts for the space. Through hundreds of community responses gathered through the Kiwanis networks as well as online surveys and word of mouth, NES presented two concepts to the public on April 10, 2024. These concepts focused on age, ability, maintenance, “heart” of Monument experience, community feedback, and budget.
The new park has an inclusive goal which means there will be an experience available for all ages and all abilities. NES will present a final design concept to the steering committee in early summer for approval. As the Kiwanis and Town are actively fundraising, the goal is to have the park breaking ground in 2025!
