N.E.S. Inc. was responsible for the Site Planning and Landscape Architecture for the Memorial Hospital North medical campus. The primary goal of site planning and landscape design for this project was to create an aesthetically pleasing and usable exterior space for hospital visitors.
N.E.S. created the opportunity for pedestrian connections throughout the site, including connections to several garden spaces and two roof gardens.
The Seasonal garden is adjacent to the cafeteria and contains a variety of garden perennials as well as low sandstone walls and cafeteria tables and chairs for eating and relaxing.
The Rolling Hills roof garden, with its series of mounds, boulders, and low xeric plant material, provides a foreground for an amazing view towards Pikes Peak and the Front Range from the main hospital lobby.
Another visual garden, the Zen roof garden, is located outside one of the main administrative conference rooms and provides opportunity for quiet contemplation outdoors.
